Why the required $100 donation?

$32,000 (awp) worth of medication raised
Every volunteer is required to raise at least $100 in medication in order for us to run a successful brigade. Ideally, we need to have enough medicine to treat up to 2,000 people on a four day brigade. There are a couple ways that you are able to reach this goal. You can solicit around pharmacies, practices, or even Safeway and ask for donations for medication. As long as your medication adds up to $100, you are all set and have met your minimum goal, but we urge that you continue your great work to raise more medication. The amount of medication we have determines how many brigades we get to do.
While gathering this much medicine is possible when students devote sufficient time and energy to gathering donated medicines and supplies, we do realize that some students will have less time or less luck than others. Therefore, $100 monetary donation that goes towards purchasing needed medicines is also acceptable (a sponsor can donate this $100).

NOTE: Please DO NOT bring any expired medication or any medication containing pseudoephedrine. If the Honduran customs finds one thing expired or that contains pseudoephedrine, all of our medication will be confiscated.
Medicine Inventory Update
As you collect medication, please update on Google Doc what medication you have received and how much you had under it's proper category. If you are not sure about what category or what your medication is, Google and research it, this is a great way to prepare yourself for working in the Pharmacy station during the brigade as well as a great learning process.
